Connection is everything! I hope my office can be a place of warmth, safety and connection where healing can occur. So my personal and professional goal is honor you right where you are, establish an environment where a co-creation of meaningful relationship between us can take root and where trauma, shame, and unwanted behaviors can be held, explored and healed. Here are some of the areas where I have worked and trained to be able to meet you in those places:

Trauma

  • Somatic Experiencing - emotion in the body
  • EMDR - attachment focused
  • Trauma Resilience Model - learning self regulation skills
  • Post Induction Therapy - accessing our inner wounded child
  • Internal Family Systems - process how we managed wounding.

Addiction

  • Sex Addiction Therapist - AASAT - Addressing unwanted sexual behavior.
  • Intimacy Anorexia Therapist - AASAT - Avoidant behavior in regard to being relational with others
  • Partner Betrayal Trauma - AASAT - recovering from wounding as a result of a partners betrayal
  • CSAT - Candidate - IITAP - Recovery from unwanted sexual behaviors and thinking.

Marriage & Family Therapy

  • Gottman Couples Counseling Certification - Addresses issues in relationships and partnering.
  • Attachment Couples Work - Sue Johnson - Addresses emotional blocks to partnering.
  • Family Therapy Focus - Doctoral Training - Helping families identify and learn skills for connection, autonomy, boundaries and growth.
  • Parent Child Relationship Training & Attachment - Identification of emotionals and thinking patterns that block connection parenting, building autonomy and esteem building between and among the family and children. Skills to understanding child and teen behaviors and the motivations behind them. Skills for creating and refining attunement and attachment and how it affect behavior and the motivational goals of the child.
  • Daring Way Certification - Fantastic tools for understanding our own shame and the shaming behaviors of others.  Setting ourselves free to love ourselves and in turn greater love for others.

Play & Creative Therapies

While I don't provide play therapy anymore, I do believe understanding the impacts and healing the needs of children is critical in working with families. So I still bring some creative and playful tools into the counseling session. We as adults still need to be able to access our playfulness. Many of us were never emotionally free to play. Being able to access that part of ourself represents greater wholeness.
